Gingerbread Men Cookies


  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tsp McCormick(R) Ground Ginger
  • 1 tsp McCormick(R) Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp McCormick(R) Ground Nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 egg


  1. Mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, nutmeg and salt in large bowl.
  2. Beat butter and brown sugar in large bowl with mixer on medium until light and fluffy.
  3. Add molasses and egg and beat well.
  4. Gradually beat in flour mixture on l ow speed until well mixed.
  5. Press dough into thick flat disk and wrap in plastic wrap.
  6. Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.
  7. Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness on lightly floured work surface.
  8. Cut into gingerbread men shapes with 5 inch cookie cutter and place 1 inch apart on baking sheets.
  9. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven 8-10 minutes or until edges of cookies are set and just begin to brown.
  10. Cool on baking sheets 1-2 minutes and remove to cool completely.
  11. Decorate as desired.
