Gram’s Sticky Buns

  • Dough
    • 2 cups milk
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 2 tsp salt
    • 2 eggs
    • 1/2 cup butter, softened
    • 2 pkg dry yeast
    • 7 cups flour
  • Filling
    • 2 tbsp melted butter
    • brown sugar and cinnamon

  1. Preheat oven to 280 degrees
  2. Mix flour and salt together in a small bowl.
  3. Heat milk in microwave until warm (not hot).
  4. Add yeast, sugar, eggs, and butter to milk.
  5. Once thoroughly mixed, add salt/flour mixture.
  6. Combine using a dough hook.
  7. Let dough set and rise to double the size.
  8. Roll out into a rectangle. I prefer thicker buns, so my rectangle is between 1/3″ and 1/2″ thick.
  9. Spread melted butter all over rectangle. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. (When I halve this recipe, I use 1/2 stick of melted butter.)
  10. Roll tightly starting at a short end and slice into sticky buns.
  11. Spray a circle pan with cooking spray and put the sticky buns in the pan.
  12. Bake until no longer gooey.

This recipe can also be used for pizza dough and 3-cornered rolls.
