Grandma Nealen’s Sponge Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup boiling milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 2 cup flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. Melt butter in milk.
  2. Beat eggs for 5 minutes.
  3. Slowly add sugar, salt, vanilla.
  4. Pour milk/butter in quickly.
  5. Quickly add flour and baking powder.
  6. Quickly pour in 9X13 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
