Meat Loaf


  • 1/2 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • ketchup as topping


  1. Beat the eggs into a consistent mixture, then add the remaining ingredients, except for ketchup.
  2. Mix together well.
  3. Form into a loaf in a cake pan or on a cookie sheet (with sides).
  4. Cook 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
  5. Remove as much liquid as possible (mostly fat).
  6. Spread/drizzle ketchup on the top of the meatloaf and bake for 40 more minutes at 350 degrees.
  7. Remove any additional liquid.
  8. Let stand and firm up for 10 minutes.
  9. Slice and serve.
