Cinnamon Buns


  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp + 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • milk, mix in to make icing preferred consistency


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the first four dry ingredients.
  3. Cut in the 1/4 cup of butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Make a well in the center of the mix and pour the milk into the middle.
  5. Stir to form a soft dough adding a bit more flour or milk as necessary.
  6. Turn out on to a lightly floured surface, and knead a few times.
  7. Roll the dough into a rectangle.
  8. Melt 1/3 cup of butter and brush onto dough.
  9. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and sprinkle on top of butter.
  10. Jelly roll the dough into a log and cut into equal slices.
  11. Place buns in a greased baking pan (with sides, not a sheet).
  12. Bake for 15 minutes.
  13. While buns are baking, mix up icing with powdered sugar and milk to desired consistency.
  14. Drizzle over buns when they’re out of the oven.
