5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake


  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp cocoa
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 3 tbsp chocolate chips
  • splash of vanilla extract
  • 1 large coffee mug (microwave safe)


  1. Add dry ingredients to mug and mix well.
  2. Add egg and mix thoroughly before pouring in milk and oil and after.
  3. Add chocolate chips and vanilla extract and mix again.
  4. Put mug into microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.  (Cake may rise over top of the mug, but don’t be alarmed.)
  5. Allow cake to cool and tip out onto a plate if desired.
